Building My Late Model

EJ Waldron is competing with a 2016 Chassis Analysis Chassis. The chassis has great significance as it is the newest oval short track chassis to come out of the Lampman Racing shop in 2 decades. The chassis is designed by former ASA driver Dennis Lampman in collaboration with and built by Jerry Suderland.

EJ and his father, Edward, worked side by side with Dennis and Jerry to complete the car in the Lampman Racing shop. Together they:  installed all body supports, the front and rear suspension, plumbed the brake lines,  installed the interior, set-up the driver’s seat, as well as many others tasks to complete the car. When the car was completed, it was tested at Slinger Speedway on a non-race day to finish the set-up.

The chassis is not only set-up and built for strength, adjustability and the greatest performance; but was designed to work in conjunction with Wegner Automotive’s 5.3 LS motor and 2-barrel carburetor tuned by Wegner Automotive.  The hubs, spindles, rotors and calipers to the rack, throttle pedal and driveshaft were all bought from Coleman Racing. There are some custom pieces on the car built by Chassis Analysis from the upper and lower control arms to motor mounts and the panhard bar mount. The body is a 2016 Chevy SS Impala from AR Bodies and wide 5 wheels from Bassett Wheel.
